GLS Conference Teacher Scholarships Web Contest
Come to GLS 4.0 for Free!
We are pleased to announce that the PK-16 Initiative and UW System will once again offer 60 scholarship seats for PreK-16 educators to attend GLS 4.0. Scholarships will cover conference admission, as well as two nights’ room and board. All we ask in return is that you participate in the event, form connections with the game designers, academics, and other game luminaries who will be in attendance, and then keep in touch after the conference to let us know what actually works in your schools and classrooms.
How to Attend on Scholarship
Download the application and complete it in one of two ways:
- To complete the application electronically, you must have Adobe Acrobat (not Acrobat Reader) or Apple Preview. Open the application form on your computer, fill it in, save it with a new name, and email the completed copy back to us at k12@glsconference.org.
-
To complete the application on paper, print it, fill it in, and mail it to us at:

While we have passed the scholarship application deadline, we are still accepting applicants for our wait list. Priority for scholarship seats will be given to teachers with the capacity to actively implement game-based learning in their schools. New attendees are particularly encouraged to apply; returning educators are certainly welcome, as well!
For questions about the scholarship program, please email us at k12@glsconference.org.
Special Pre-Conference Evening Workshop
This year, for the first time, we will hold a special evening workshop for educators attending GLS. This special event will offer teachers and educational leaders an opportunity to: orient to the conference; dialog and workshop on games and the classroom; even get hands-on gaming time. If you are interested in attending on scholarship, plan on being here by 4pm on Wednesday, July 9th, for the evening’s events.
PI34 Opportunity for Wisconsin Teachers & Professional Development Credits
If you are a Wisconsin teacher looking to renew your professional license, we are working with the PK-16 Initiative to help you use GLS as an opportunity to fulfill your requirements for PI34. Additionally, if you are a teacher or administrator working in any other state, we are happy to work with your district to satisfy all of the official requirements for you to accrue credit through attendance and participation at GLS.
