Patrick Pettyjohn
Biography
Patrick Pettyjohn is a PhD candidate in learning science at Indiana University. He is interested in creating and analyzing virtual learning environments that position players in narratively rich contexts with a legitimate role to solve a context specific problem. In these environments, a student’s success in solving the contextual problem is based on their ability to enlist academic content. Prior to his doctoral work, Patrick spent 2 years mentoring international teenagers in southern France, and 5 years leading a high school mentoring non-profit program in northeast Indiana. He holds a BS in education and cross cultural studies from Huntington University. In his spare time he enjoys playing first person shooter games and is training for his first Ironman triathlon.
