Caroline "Caro" Williams wants to be a philosophizing crypto-mathematician educational researching game designer when she grows up, and is working towards that end by studying mathematics, mathematics education, and video games. She just finished her first year as a PhD student in Learning Sciences at Indiana University at Bloomington, doing work on complex systems, cryptography, and the design and implementation of educational video games. Prior to that, she was enrolled as a master’s student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Mathematics and Mathematics Education. Between studying puzzles wrapped in conundrums wrapped in enigmas, and playing games for work, Caro watches other people doing the same and asks them all sorts of pesky questions.
