Eric Bauman is a Faculty Associate in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He is a registered nurse and paramedic with many years of diverse clinical experience in healthcare and field experience in the fire service. He earned his BS and MS in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Nursing and his PhD from the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the UW–Madison School of Education, where he researched the use of high-fidelity simulation as a method for health sciences education. Eric’s teaching and research interests focus on how games and situated simulation can be used to facilitate psychomotor and behavioral change in clinical environments. Eric has presented his research findings addressing the integration of simulation and game-based learning at numerous regional, national, and international conferences. He continues to present, write, and publish in the field of simulation and game-based clinical education, as well in the areas of crisis management and human factors analysis.
