Erica Halverson
Biography

Erica Halverson is an assistant professor of educational psychology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She does research on the art-making process and specifically how youth engage in telling, adapting, and performing the stories of their lives. Erica looks at this process as both a literacy practice and a site for positive identity development. Over the past 3 years, she has worked with four youth media arts organizations around the country trying to understand how they work with youth to construct digital art that represents themselves and their communities. By the way, if Erica’s 3-year-old sees you at the conference, she will tell you to call Erica “Snoop Dogg”.
