Dabney Standley
Biography

Dabney Standley is an educational innovation consultant with clients in the United Kingdom and United States. His current focus is on developing training programs for economic development agencies and corporations in the area of innovation best practices. In addition, he is working with Caspian Learning on the launch of their Thinking Worlds serious games development platform in the United States.
His background is in marketing and educational product development. Prior to his current work, Standley was international director for the Kelvin Institute, a Scotland-based organization that worked with Scottish universities to start new companies based on their research. Before joining the Kelvin Institute, Standley was vice-president of marketing and director of U.S. operations at Active Navigation, a knowledge management company. Prior to that, Standley headed up the development of McGraw-Hill’s Internet strategy, spearheading the design of the McGraw-Hill Learning Network, for the Educational Publishing Group consisting of Glencoe, School Division, SRA, Consumer Products, and Early Learning. In addition, he worked directly with the Consumer Products division producing CD-ROM titles.
Before McGraw-Hill, Standley held various positions in educational software development at companies including Apple Computer, NYNEX Science and Technology (now Verizon), and Broderbund Software. He holds a master’s degree from New York University’s Interactive Telecommunications Program.
