Monica Evans is an Assistant Professor of Computer Game Design in the Arts and Technology program at the University of Texas at Dallas. She has served as a writer and designer on experimental and educational game projects with numerous university partners, including the Dallas Museum of Art, Alcatel, Nortel, U. S. Army Training Doctrine and Command (TRADOC), and Joint Forces Command (JFCOM). Currently she teaches courses in game design and production, serious games, and interactive narrative. Dr. Evans also coordinates the UT Dallas Computer Gaming Entrepreneurship Competition, sponsored by Hughes Ventures. She is affiliated with the Mobile Innovations Lab and the Virtual Worlds Lab at UT Dallas and serves on the Serious Games Initiative through the University of Texas System. Her latest work may be seen in the upcoming book World of Warcraft and Philosophy, forthcoming 2009.
