Tanner Higgin

Biography

Tanner Higgin is a PhD student at the University of California, Riverside. His scholarship attempts to describe how power operates in videogame culture with a specific interest in devising progressive political interventions in gamespaces. Within the next year he plans to work on his dissertation, which, in keeping with these goals, will be a theoretical study of race in videogames. He has published articles in Games and Culture, The Meaning and Culture of Grand Theft Auto, and in the forthcoming collection Joystick Soldiers: The Politics of Play in Military Video Games.
