Danielle Herro
Biography

Dani Herro is a doctoral student in the Educational Communications and Technology program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has studied MMOGs and virtual worlds under the direction of her advisor, Constance Steinkuehler, and she has participated in research projects with Augmented Reality Games. Currently she is a dissertator researching the impact of Web 2.0 technologies embedded in a middle school curriculum. Her principal research interests involve finding ways to help teachers and students connect relevant, motivating, engaging technology tools to (afford) complex learning. Herro is also a Technology Coordinator in the Oconomowoc area school district and instructs a graduate class on digital literacy. Before her recent stint as Technology Coordinator and doctoral student, she worked as a classroom teacher and technology resource teacher. In her spare time she explores Second Life especially the possibility/feasibility of introducing the environment to interested high school teachers and students.
