Nick Maynard
Biography

Nick Maynard is the director of innovation for the Doorways to Dreams Fund (D2D). D2D is a 501c(3) nonprofit with the mission to expand access to financial services for low–to–moderate income families by creating, testing, and deploying innovative financial products and services.
Nick leads the financial entertainment initiative at D2D that explores the use of digital media, like casual videogames, to improve financial literacy and financial decision making for lower–income Americans. Since joining D2D, Nick has led initiatives piloting prize–linked savings in the credit union industry (www.michigansavingsraffle.org), testing cutting–edge marketing innovations for small savers, and offering US Savings Bonds at tax time. He was the lead author on the Filene Research Institute publication, "Does Imagery Matter: Delving into the Mind of Low– to Moderate–Income Savers." He is also co–author of the Harvard Business School Working Paper, "Consumer Demand for Prize–Linked Savings" a study of Centra Credit Union's prize–linked savings product launch. He has been an invited speaker at the Brookings Institution, CFSI’s Underbanked Conference, and credit union industry conferences.
Prior to joining D2D, Nick spent a decade providing customer, market, and operational strategy consulting to Fortune 1000 executives while at Deloitte Consulting and Braxton Associates. Nick holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Masters in Public Policy (MPP) from the Harvard Kennedy School. He is also a graduate of Princeton University with a Bachelor of Science (BSE) degree in engineering and operations research.
