Nilgun Gunbas
Biography

Nilgun Gunbas is a doctoral student studying Instructional Technology and Media at Teachers College, Columbia University. She holds two Ed.M degrees, one in Mathematics Education from Turkey and the other in Instructional and Learning Technology/ Educational Psychology from Temple University. As a result of having Mathematics and Instructional Technology background, her research interest is to take advantage of technological advantages in Mathematics classrooms. Her current research focus on using Digital Narratives as a supportive tool in helping students with their mathematical problem solving skills, researching the effect of Narratives in educational game play, researching the design patterns of effective educational games, possibilities of the digital narratives based Mathematics games and designing Multimedia Learning Theory based manipulatives to help kids with problem solving process.
