Mete Akcaoglu is a PhD student at the Educational Psychology and Educational Technology Program at Michigan State University.

Having both his B.A. and M.A. from two distinct Turkish universities in Istanbul and Ankara on applied linguistics, Mete’s personal interest in educational technologies started during his undergraduate education and continued with his master’s thesis.

His research interests include, but not limited to, gaming in education (specifically in language teaching), distance education theories and their practical applications, educational policy and comparative international education research. As a research assistant, he works with a team of creative individuals on creating an online MMORPG, Zon, which aims to teach Chinese to learners from all over the world.
