From 2006 to 2008, Chris designed and implemented Augmented Reality Games on handhelds with dozens of middle school classrooms as two-week curricula in the subjects of Science and Social Studies in Madison and Milwaukee schools as part of a team of researchers at University of Wisconsin-Madison, MIT, and Harvard funded by a DOE Star Schools grant. Trained as a mathematician (number theory) and an educational technology researcher, Chris has been an active member of the UW-Madison research group Games+Learning+Society since 2004, and an avid gamer for much of his life. Chris is seeking to further develop the nascent learning opportunities afforded by mobile technology in a wide variety of contexts and disciplines.
