Jantina Huizenga

Biography

Jantina Huizenga is a PhD student at the Department of Child Development and Education of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences of the University of Amsterdam (UvA). Her research subject is gaming in secondary education. She has a special interest in mobile gaming, but recently completed an external research project on media literacy and ICT in Art education (as she’s always been interested in the added value of ICT in education). Jantina is the chair of the PhD division of the Netherlands Educational Research Association (NERA) and also works for an organization called Technika 10 (an organization with expertise on children and ICT & engineering that pays special attention to girls) where she focuses on the courses of Gamemaking.
