Ricarose Roque
Biography

Ricarose Roque jointly works as a coordinator for Project GUTS (Growing Up Thinking Scientifically) from the Santa Fe Institute and as a software developer for the Office of STEM Education Partnerships (OSEP)in the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern. With Project GUTS, she manages an after school STEM club at a middle school in the south side of Chicago. At OSEP, she works on the iLabs Network project, which provides classrooms remote access to lab equipment housed in university laboratories. Before coming to Northwestern, Ricarose was a project manager and lead developer of the StarLogo TNG project at the MIT Scheller Teacher Education Program. She graduated from MIT with her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in 2006 and Master of Engineering in Computer Science in 2007. Ricarose is interested in human-computer interaction, extending computer science education in the K-12 realm, and initiatives that encourage more women to pursue computer science.
