Asmalina Saleh
Biography
Asmalina Saleh is a PhD student in Indiana University’s Learning Sciences program. Her previous work includes designing casual games for an independent game design company and the implementation of educational games in classrooms. Her current research interests include how specific learning environment designs are taken up by students and teachers in the classroom, and the role of cultural and social histories in affecting one’s interaction with the designed environment. In particular, she is interested in the trajectory and emergence of youth owned spaces, through the interplay of rules and norms and the interactions among members of a community. Her current work involves designing game based curriculum for informal and formal learning environments by introducing advanced academic concepts to younger children.
