Eric Bauman
Biography

Dr. Eric Bauman is a registered nurse and paramedic with many years of diverse clinical experience in healthcare and field experience in the fire service. He is a Faculty Associate in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Wisconsin, where he is responsible for simulation-based curricula development. His expertise focuses on behavioral factors, critical care and crisis management. He also designs and implements simulation-based research, maintains an active teaching load, and mentors research scholars. He earned his BS and MS in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Nursing and his PhD from the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the UW–Madison School of Education, where he researched the use of high-fidelity simulation as a method for health sciences education. Dr. Bauman is an advocate for multidisciplinary education and research. He collaborates with the Games+Learning+Society program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Education. His experience spans various disciplines, including EMS, firefighting, and healthcare. He has presented on the topic of simulation at a number of regional, national, and international conferences.
