Jeff Beeman is finishing a Masters degree in Educational Technology at Arizona State University, where he also works as Manager and Lead Drupal Developer in the University Technology Office. Through coursework with Jim Gee and Betty Hayes, Jeff’s life-long interest in gaming quickly became the focus of his Masters studies and research.

As a lead developer with the Technology Integration group of ASU’s Applied Learning Technologies Institute, he was responsible for conceptualizing, developing and maintaining applications for ASU, IDEAL, Global Grid for Learning, and several international university partnerships. Jeff is a proponent of open source development, particularly within educational institutions and is a founding member of ASU Open Source, as well as an active contributor to the Drupal project. In 2007 he helped found the ASU Drupal Users Group and the ASU Web Community.

Prior to joining ASU, Jeff was adjunct faculty in Northern Arizona University’s School of Communication where he taught courses and workshops on various aspects of the web development process. He received his B.F.A. in Visual Communication: Computer Imaging from Northern Arizona University in 2003.
