Kenneth Angielczyk

Biography

Ken Angielczyk is Assistant Curator of Fossil Mammals at The Field Museum of Natural History. His research focuses on the early lineages that led to mammals which thrived 240-280 million years ago. He received his PhD in Integrative Biology from the University of California at Berkeley in 2003. Ken is eager to share his work with students around the world and is the focal scientist for the “I Dig Science” series thus far. “I Dig Science” uses Teen Second Life as a virtual classroom in which teens from different locations mimic the actions of and learn directly from scientists in the field. In the “I Dig” series, Ken has taught remotely from Tanzania (2008), Zambia (2009), and Brazil (2010) and in person at The Field Museum and the University of Chicago.
