Kristine Ask
Biography

As a PhD Student at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Kristine Ask's research is focused on player practices and productions in the game World of Warcraft under the heading “Synthetic cooperation and learning. A study of knowledge-production and sharing in online games.” The key theme for this research is how the assembly of design, play, knowledge, morals, everyday life and user–made artifacts constitute a heterogeneous network that shape player practices. Like many other game scholars, her interest for games and online cultures is not only academic. Based on years of experience with online games, the project is based on a one–year ethnographic study of raiding guilds.
