Aaron Chia-Yuan Hung


Aaron Chia-Yuan Hung is currently a doctoral candidate at Teachers College, Columbia University. His dissertation research is an ethnographic study that follows a group of adolescent gamers in New York City who are recent Chinese immigrants. As a researcher, he is interested in player-focused studies to explore the ways they make sense of the actions and events in video games. As a gamer, he is into role-playing games, first-person shooters, strategy, adventure, and simulations. He got both his M.A. and Ed.M. at Teachers College, in Teaching of English and in International Education Development, respectively. Prior to that, he attained his Bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan, with a concentration in organizational behavior.
