Shree Durga is a doctoral student of Kurt Squire’s in the Educational Communications and Technology program at the University of Wisconsin—Madison. Her research interests include skill acquisition and expertise in games in game-based learning environments that leverage existing commercial games.
Shree’s professional background is in software development, and she has worked as a content developer for an online learning club for professionals. She is also a GAPPS research fellow, working in an after-school game-based learning project where kids play and make their own game mods with the game Civilization to gain systemic understandings about world history and geography.
Shree hails from a warm and humid belt of southern India and loves spicy food. Her recent obsession with addicting online Flash games and Wii Tennis have rendered her a carpal-tunnel victim.
