Erica Halverson is an assistant professor of learning sciences in the Educational Psychology Department at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Erica’s research focuses on the relationship between youth production and identity development, particularly spaces where youth create public representations of their personal stories. This work has taken her to a series of case studies with organizations around the United States that work with youth to produce films focused on the stories of their lives. Erica also studies other participatory media spaces like fantasy sports to understand the underlying design principles at work in these environments that foster the development of deep engagement and expertise. Erica is a proud member of the GLS Research group and a member of the GLS conference Executive Committee.
