Eric Bauman

Biography

Eric Bauman, PhD, is an RN and paramedic. He earned a BA in sociology and a BS and MS in nursing from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He completed his PhD in Curriculum and Instruction in 2007 at the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Education. Eric currently works for the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health where he develops and implements simulation-based curricula for medical students, faculty, and staff in the Department of Anesthesiology. His teaching and research interest focuses on how situated simulation can be used to facilitate psychomotor and behavioral change in clinical environments. Eric has over 10 years of clinical nursing experience and over 15 years of experience in the fire service. These diverse clinical and teaching experiences have convinced him that multidisciplinary opportunities utilizing gaming and simulation are essential to preparing students for clinical practice.
