Dr. Sonny Kirkley is the CEO and co-founder of Information In Place, Inc. He has over 20 years of experience with designing and developing technology-based training and learning environments. He has led the design and development of several serious games and augmented reality applications for both training and performance. He has served as the principal investigator on over $6 million of federal and state funded competitively awarded contracts and grants (including the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, National Institutes for Health, National Institute for Environmental and Health Sciences, National Science Foundation, and Indiana’s 21st Century Fund), as well as numerous corporate contracts. Dr. Kirkley obtained his PhD in instructional systems technology from Indiana University in 2003. He is now an adjunct assistant professor with IU’s School of Informatics where he teaches classes on serious game design and augmented reality applications.
