Bob Coulter

Biography

Bob Coulter is the director of the Litzsinger Road Ecology Center, an environmental education and research facility managed by the Missouri Botanical Garden. When he is not playing administrator, he leads a number of programs for youth and adults at the center and in the community that use technology to engage people with the local environment. Much of his time gets absorbed leading LIONS (Local Investigations of Natural Science), an NSF-funded initiative to explore innovative after-school programming. He also leads the Botanical Garden’s Mapping the Environment program that supports innovative uses of geospatial technology through professional development workshops, published curriculum modules, and summer classes for students. Prior to joining the Garden, he was an award-winning elementary science and mathematics teacher in public and private schools.
